On Saturday, January 21st LVYP Kiwanis held their monthly service meeting at Ronald McDonald House. On the third Saturdays of every month we hold a short meeting and cook dinner for the families residing in the home.
Our president, Sean, was in Reno but was able to skype in on our meeting where we reflected on our profitable fundraiser with Just Cooler for helping with their CES booth for the Consumer Electronic Show and discussed upcoming events with our Key Clubs and local Circle K clubs.
With a full house of families and families housed in nearby hotels, we were told to prepare dinner for 37 adults & children.
We decided to make sandwiches for dinner where we made Philly Cheesesteaks and Tuna Sandwiches with a side of chips and fruit and mini pudding pies for dessert.
This little boy kept coming into the kitchen to grab more pudding pies which was the cutest thing ever! And we met a family whose teenage daughter underwent a heart surgery just the day before who was appreciative of the food we had cooked.
Shout out to Ronald McDonald House for providing these families a home away from home while their children undergo medical treatments and to our awesome LVYP Kiwanians who helped cooked food! You all ROCK!
